A Royal Dining Experience: The Disney Princess Breakfast 2025 at Napa Rose

The Disney Princess Breakfast at Napa Rose, located in the Grand Californian Hotel in Anaheim, California, is one of the most exclusive and expensive character dining experiences offered by Disney. With a price tag of $150 per person—yes, that includes children—it’s a splurge-worthy outing for Disney fans, especially those with little ones who adore princesses. Children under three are free, in line with Disney Parks’ policy. Our family had the opportunity to enjoy this experience during our Disneyland trip in January 2025. Here’s a detailed review of what we thought about it.

The Food: A Mixed Bag

The dining experience begins with a tower of appetizers, each item tied to a specific Disney princess. While the presentation and storytelling were charming, the food itself was hit-or-miss. The standout item was undoubtedly the beignets, which both Andy and Marvel agreed were the highlight of the tower. Other items included lobster rolls, banana brûlée, and chia pudding. However, many of these dishes were too rich or sophisticated for a 5-year-old’s palate.

The buffet was another key element of the meal. It featured traditional Mickey waffles in both chicken-and-waffle and confetti forms, the latter being a standard waffle with Fruity Pebbles mixed into the batter. Marvel enjoyed the buffet the most, gravitating toward fruit, macaroni and cheese, and other kid-friendly options. While the selection was limited, it provided a welcome balance to the more adventurous appetizer tower.

The final course was a dessert tower featuring items inspired by various princesses, such as cake pops, macarons, and sorbets. The display was absolutely adorable, and while the treats were delicious, they were also incredibly rich. We ended up requesting a to-go box to take the extras back to our hotel.

For guests with dietary restrictions, Disney excels at accommodating allergies. As someone with a gluten allergy, I found the effort to create similar options commendable. However, many of the gluten-free adaptations fell short in taste and texture, particularly in the appetizer and buffet selections. On the bright side, the gluten-free desserts were delightful, and I ended up saving most of them for a post-park snack.

The Princess Experience: Worth the Splurge

The highlight of the Disney Princess Breakfast is, without a doubt, the chance to meet the princesses. Unlike the Royal Hall in Disneyland Park—where you can see three to four princesses after waiting in line—this breakfast offers a relaxed, unrushed opportunity to meet a larger number of characters. During our visit, we met eight princesses: Mulan, Jasmine, Belle, Tiana, Rapunzel, Pocahontas, Aurora, and Ariel. Each interaction felt personal and magical, especially for Marvel, who had been eager to meet Princess Tiana for three trips. This experience alone justified the high ticket price for our family.

The servers kept us informed about when new princesses were available and where to find them, ensuring we didn’t miss anyone. The intimate setting and lack of time pressure made it easy to take photos, chat, and create special memories with each princess.

Timing and Practical Tips

We recommend scheduling an early breakfast time to make the most of the experience without cutting into your park day. Our breakfast lasted about two hours, which was perfect for Marvel, while Dash (our 8-month-old) conveniently napped just after dessert. The leisurely pace allowed us to fully enjoy the interactions and the meal without feeling rushed.

However, one area where we felt Disney fell short was the inconsistency of the “gift” given at the end of the breakfast. Research from 2024 indicated that past gifts included autograph books, tote bags, or necklaces. During our visit, we received a button and a printed postcard featuring princess signatures. While Marvel appreciated the keepsake, she couldn’t help but notice Cinderella’s absence from the breakfast lineup despite her signature being on the card, leading to some understandable disappointment.

Alternatives to the Princess Breakfast

If you’re debating whether the Princess Breakfast is worth the cost, consider your priorities. The Royal Hall in Disneyland Park is the only other way to meet princesses, but it typically involves long lines to see just a few characters. Similarly, Anna and Elsa can be found at Disney California Adventure’s Animation Theater, but the wait times can be substantial. The Princess Breakfast allows you to meet a wide range of princesses in a much shorter time, making it an ideal choice for families who want to maximize their character interactions without sacrificing park time.

Final Thoughts

The Disney Princess Breakfast at Napa Rose is a premium experience that delivers on its promise of magical princess encounters. While the food was hit-or-miss and the price steep, the opportunity to meet so many princesses in a relaxed setting made it a worthwhile splurge for our family. It’s an especially good option for celebrations, such as birthdays or first Disney trips, where the memories created will last a lifetime.

That said, this is likely a one-and-done experience for us due to the cost. While we enjoyed the convenience of avoiding the Royal Hall lines and the joy on Marvel’s face as she interacted with her favorite princesses, it’s not something we’d budget for on every trip. For families with a Disney Princess fanatic, however, this breakfast offers a magical start to your day that’s hard to beat.
